Oluwatosin “Tosin” Anjorin, BS in Human Development and Family Sciences, Student Counselor-In-Training
Tosin Anjorin is a student counselor-in-training supervised by Dr. Jinnelle V. Powell, Ph.D., LPC-S. She is committed to helping others heal, grow, find balance, and discover their authentic selves. She believes that her life's purpose involves helping others and she aims to help individuals, couples, and families overcome various issues that are affecting them. She is currently earning her Master of Science in Professional Counseling at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. She earned a Bachelor of Science and Arts in Human Development and Family Sciences from The University of Texas at Austin.
Tosin is passionate about issues surrounding youth development, interpersonal relationships, trauma, inner child healing, distress tolerance, and emotional regulation. She believes that her work with children has taught her an abundance of knowledge on maintaining mental and emotional balance and healing from adversity while being one's genuine self. Her own personal experiences have additionally offered her an immense amount of empathy and understanding. She eventually hopes to become EMDR trained counselor and a Registered Play Therapist.
Tosin wants to work with a variety of clients; she is dedicated to creating a safe and comfortable environment for individuals of diverse backgrounds and experiences. She strives to uplift those in marginalized groups including the BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and AAPI communities.
In her free time, Tosin enjoys writing poems and blog posts, creating from other mediums, having picnics, and expanding her knowledge.
