Oluwatosin “Tosin” Anjorin, MS, LPC-Associate, NCC
Tosin Anjorin is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate supervised by Julie M. Thigpen, MS, LPC-S, RPT-S and Dr. Jinnelle V. Powell, PhD, LPC-S. She believes that her life's purpose is to help others. Tosin is committed to helping others heal and grow, find balance, and discover their authentic self. She earned a Master of Science in Professional Counseling at Texas A&M University Corpus Christi and a Bachelor of Science and Arts in Human Development and Family Sciences from The University of Texas at Austin.
Tosin is passionate about issues surrounding youth development, interpersonal relationships, trauma, inner child healing, attachment, generational trauma, mood instability, and emotional regulation. She believes that her work with young people has provided her with knowledge on maintaining mental/emotional balance, healing from adversity, and being authentic. Tosin’s own personal experiences have given her immense empathy and understanding. Her approaches include Narrative Therapy and Internal Family Systems, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR), and Child-Centered Play Therapy.
Tosin is dedicated to creating a safe and comfortable environment for individuals of diverse backgrounds and experiences. She strives to uplift those in marginalized groups including the BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and AAPI communities. As a first generation Nigerian-American who was raised in the diverse city of Houston, multiculturalism and intersectionality is very important to Tosin.
In her free time, Tosin enjoys writing poems and blog posts, reading, volunteering, being in nature, lifting and pilates, spending time with her loved ones, and expanding her knowledge.
