Elizabeth Barrientes, MS, LPC-S, Registered Play Therapist
Elizabeth Barrientes is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor and is currently accepting new clients. She has worked with young children in a setting that supports mental health and social emotional growth and development for children ages birth to five for the past 25 years. Within the last 5 years, she has worked as a Mental Health Consultant and has provided therapy through play utilizing Child Centered theory in her practice. She is working toward her certification as a Registered Play Therapist, where she has extensive training in play therapy theories as well as supervision from Julie Thigpen, LPC-S, RPT-S.
Over the last couple of years, she has also provided support to families by providing training in Conscious Discipline that helps adults support and teach self-regulation skills to their young children.
As a counselor, Elizabeth believes in having a client-centered approach which includes understanding and empathy as well as focusing on developing a strong therapeutic relationship to support each client to reach their goals.
