Kaitlyn Wagner, MS, LPC Associate

Kaitlyn Wagner is currently accepting new clients at a discounted/reduced rate under the supervision of Board Approved Supervisor Julie Thigpen, RPT-S, LPC-S.  Kaitlyn is currently a Licensed Professional Counselor – Associate.  She has a passion for working with families and children to help foster resilience and healing.

Kaitlyn has been working with children and adolescents in our community for the last ten years.  She obtained her Bachelors in Psychology from Texas A&M University – Kingsville and a Masters in Education in School Counseling from University of St. Thomas – Houston.  Kaitlyn began her career working with children and adolescents who had experienced trauma while working with Child Protective Services.  She then transitioned to education where she was a teacher, coach, and school counselor.  Kaitlyn has been a strong advocate in our community and has organized a variety of Mental Health Nights, Parent Outreach Nights, and Career Nights for adolescents.

Kaitlyn specializes in play therapy for children.  She utilizes a child-centered approach to play therapy and believes in focusing on the child as a whole.  Kaitlyn has extensive experience supporting children to develop emotional regulation, working with teens and adolescents, and helping children deal with trauma and grief.  Kaitlyn believes that families, parents, and guardians are an integral part of the therapeutic process and seeks to actively involve them in building skills to enhance relationships within the family.  

Outside of the playroom, you can find Kaitlyn playing with her daughters, exercising along the beach, surfing, or boating!  Kaitlyn would love the opportunity to work with your family.
